![]() ![]() Started car halfheartedly and the car sounded fine. Put the O2 sensor back on, by the way not easy to turn counter clockwise but finally it hit the groves, may have stripped it getting it out, don't half ass it either or it will not hold, you will definitely be able to tell bc it will sound like a freight train going through a nitrogliciren plant if it does not hold! Anyways after everything was put together I started it with a fire extinguisher ready to go lmao no ****. I had bought an oversized long drill bit for my drill and drilled all the build up in front of honeycomb through the 02 sensor hole. I sprayed it with WD-40 and toweled it off. I bought an 02 sensor wrench, took my intake apart and completely out for leverage, put all my weight on it finally got it loose and took out the 02 sensor, Jesus! The 02 sensor was filthy. At this point I said **** with it let's try something. My Cat was clogged so bad on my 2010 Audi A5 that my car would not go faster than 62 mph on highway pedal to the floor. ![]() It might be better to break it up with a 'punch' or chisel, and get it out in chunks rather than make so much dust by drilling. Don't get the powder and dust all over the place. Not only are there metals in there that aren't at all good for you, and you don't want to hurt yourself and perhaps others, such as your kids or wife. Just be careful where you do it, and protect yourself. Also, wear eye protection!īe aware that what you're doing is almost certainly illegal in your state and is definitely illegal according to federal law, but if your state doesn't do emissions testing, I doubt you'll run into any problems. If you're determined to drill it out, MAKE SURE YOU BUY AND WEAR SOME PROPER RESPIRATORY PROTECTION! Believe me! You don't want to be breathing the dust and powder that's going to come out. If you're really too strapped to fix it properly, put a straight piece of exhaust tubing in place of it until you can afford to replace it with a functioning unit. You're also probably going to stink up your house or garage with some fumes you really don't want to be breathing. If your catalytic converter is plugging, either you've run fuel containing sulfur, lead, phosphorus or some other contaminant through it for a while, killing the catalyst and it's plugging with unburned carbon, or you've got a problem with your engine running too rich, causing temperatures high enough to start melting the substrate.Įither way, you're not going to bring it back to life by boiling it in anything.
